When clients first start working with me they are often feeling overwhelmed, upset, or out of balance. Many of them have forgotten who they really are, judging themselves on the basis of:
- Their current situations
- What they have done or not done
- Expectations of how they think they should be
- Thoughts and emotions they experience
- Feeling broken by their history
- Buying into the misbelief something is wrong with them
Whether it’s on the forefront of their mind or hidden under daily life, they are often marinating in self-judgement.
And then, I remind them who they really are.
I believe that we are all souls. Souls full of gifts, capabilities and LOVE. We come into this world as beautiful, innocent babies full of positive potential. And then, life happens.
- Mommy doesn’t change our diaper or feed us right away
- Kids tease us
- We break up with our first love
- Someone dies
- We are told over and over again that we are not good enough
These messages and experiences are like static that covers our souls and keeps us from remembering our true selves. We get stuck in the earthly version of ourselves based on what life brings.
It’s time to uncover our souls again. Start letting go of the thoughts, habits, and beliefs that do not support you. Start embracing the pure potential and love in your heart. Keep letting go until you can embrace who you really are, a soul having an experience here on earth.
There is a flip side to this as well, remembering that the people in your life, even the ones who challenge you the most, are souls too.
When you can see this it is easier to move into understanding and compassion for what caused them to act in ways that may upset you. You can still take action to protect yourself if need be, but it can ride on the energy of love.
I invite you to start seeing the people around you as souls. Look deep into their eyes instead of at their appearance or circumstances. Remember that that their actions and personalities have been shaped by experiences in their lives, but ultimately they have hearts full of love, just like yours.
And that, brings us to the hardest part, seeing yourself in the same way. Bring compassion, understanding, and acceptance inward, filling your heart with love and letting your beautiful soul shine through.
